General Description: This charming and whimsical cottage is located only 2 miles from the worlds famous Hawaii’s Volcanoes National Park! A one bedroom, two bathroom, fully equipped kitchen has all the comforts of home with a whole lot of extra charm & character. The cottage is surrounded by a tropical rainforest consisting of many native plants & birds. True serenity & relaxation awaits you at this magical place that you’ll never want to leave!
Spaces: The cottage is two stories. Upstairs is the very spacious bedroom with a queen size bed, high open beam ceilings, cedar bathroom with a two person jet tub, and a private lanai with a swinging hammock chair.
Downstairs you will find our fully equipped kitchen with all the modern amenities, a cozy living room with a propane gas fireplace, a pull out futon (can sleep 2), bathroom with slate shower and two spacious lanais!
Construction: Lazy Lehua Cottage was lovingly built for guests, family and friends. The land was cleared just enough to put the cottage in it’s perfect place keeping as many of the native Ohia trees and Hapu’u ferns as possible. The few trees we did have to cut down were used for posts on the front and back lanais, which gives it it’s whimsical look. We also used Waivi strawberry guava branches for the railings inside and out. Focused was put on giving the Lazy Lehua Cottage alot of character. We know you’ll agree that we succeeded in doing so.
Features: Amenities- Fully equipped kitchen with all new appliances, propane fireplace, all bed & bath linens provided, TV w/cable, DVD & VCR player, CD player, selection of dvd’s, videos, cd’s, and variety of books in our small library, telephone w/free long distance, internet access, hair dryer, umbrellas. Complimentary- Kona Coffee, hot cocoa, teas, microwave popcorn, shampoo/conditioner, body wash/soap, fresh local fruits, and fresh flowers!

Float suspended in a hammock chair on one of the 3 lanais while gazing out to the abundant rainforest that hosts gigantic Hapu’u ferns, magnificent Lehua flowering Ohia trees, and aromatic ginger. Lazy Lehua Cottage is located 1 mile from Volcano Village where restaurants, galleries, a winery, golf course can all be found. World Famous Hawaii Volcano National Park is 2 miles away, a must for your trip to the Big Island.
The Big Island offers many unforgettable experiences. In Hawaii Volcano National Park, you can walk through a giant lava tube, hike through unforgettable rainforests, steaming craters, or see what Pu’u O’o is creating today; one of the only place’s in the world you will experience new land being created. Check out Punalu’u beach, where sea turtles rest and lay their eggs in the beautiful black sand, a 30 minute drive. Visit old historic town Hilo, only 30 minutes away. Walk through the beautiful Hawaii Tropical Botanical Gardens, or to hike to the many waterfalls. If your travels take you to the South East part of the Big Island to walk on newly made land near Kaimu; make sure to check out the banana splits at Verna’s Café; where the road ends in Kaimu on hwy 137. A short jog down hwy 137, snorkel and soak in the naturally heated Kapoho tide pools, breathe the most pristine air in the world, check out Champagne Pond, another 10 miles east of Kalapana, a beautiful drive.
